Shane Thomas


Shane Thomas, Jr. serves as the director of choral activities at Martin County High School in Stuart, FL. He holds a Master of Music in Choral Conducting with distinction from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ, and graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Music Education from Stetson University in DeLand, FL. Prior to his arrival at Martin County High School, Shane was the graduate assistant conductor for the Westminster Kantorei and Westminster Schola Cantorum at Westminster Choir College and student conductor for choral ensembles at Stetson University. He has appeared as a choral conductor throughout the United States and Europe. Choirs under his direction have received superior and gold ratings at district, state, and national competitions.

Shane was a two-year member of the Westminster Choir, Westminster Kantorei, and Westminster Symphonic Choir while he was a student at Westminster Choir College. As a performer, he has performed alongside internationally acclaimed orchestras such as the New York Philharmonic, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Simon Bolivar Youth Orchestra, the London Philharmonia, and the West-East Divan Orchestra lead by conductors such as Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Gustavo Dudamel, Alan Gilbert, Vladimir Jurowski, and Daniel Barenboim in world-acclaimed concert halls like Alice Tully Hall and Carnegie Hall in New York City, NY and Verizon Hall in Philadelphia, PA. He has appeared as a tenor soloist with the Westminster Choir, Westminster Kantorei, Westminster Symphonic Choir, Festival Singers of Florida, and various community and church ensembles throughout the United States.

An active performer and conductor, Shane continues to serve as church section leader, soloist, and assistant music director. He has assisted with the Treasure Coast Community Singers and continues to sing at Bethesda-by-the-Sea Episcopal Church in West Palm Beach, FL.  He currently sings with the Festival Singers of Florida under the direction of Dr. Kevin Fenton.
